Blacklight Run loves fun.
We love sharing happiness with our friends, family, and our community. And we love giving back to the community we hold so dear. Did you know that 1 in 3 families are affected each year by childhood cancer or terminal illness? It hurts our hearts to hear, too. To do our part to help these children and their families, the Blacklight Run™ takes pride in working with and donating to local children’s charities. We are passionate and driven in supporting our neighborhood leader, the Phoenix Children’s Hospital, in our hometown of Phoenix, Arizona.
Do you want to get involved and help spread awareness about childhood cancer? So do we! And we need your help to do it. Each and every one of our races is dedicated to spreading the word about childhood cancer, and each and every one of our runners makes that possible. So thanks for that!
What is the Blacklight Run™?
The Blacklight Run™ is none other than the brightest, most fun run with distances up to 5k out there. At the Blacklight Run™ we aren’t focused on how fast or how far you can run, what type of exercise you enjoy, or if you’re an avid runner. Instead, we welcome any and all participants looking for a glowing good time. Whether you sprint it, run it, or walk it, it doesn’t matter to us! We simply want you to enjoy it. These three miles will be the best three miles you’ve ever spent with your friends and family—we promise.
How Does It Work?
Well, it’s simple:
REGISTRATION IS FREE!
Wear a white shirt. Don’t have one? Don’t worry! There are some pretty awesome Blacklight Run™ t-shirts given out to you at registration. Throw it on before you get to the starting line and you’re good to go!
Run, walk, or skip like the wind! However you want to get to the finish line works for us. But at the end of the race, you want to be covered in Blacklight Run™ UV Glow Powder. The more, the better! It glows in our Blacklight Zones™ and lets you rock out in the dark at our Blacklight After Run Party™.
If we had to insert a step 4, it would be to enjoy every minute of this incredible race. It’s the first of its kind, and we want you owning it while you get Glowed™ in Glow Powder™, laughing with your loved ones. Oh, and sticking around to enjoy the after party. Duh. Did we even have to remind you?
Every Participant Will Receive:
- A Blacklight Run™ Medal (see below)
- A commemorative Blacklight Run™ t-shirt
- A Blacklight Run™ glow-in-the-dark temporary tattoo
- A Blacklight Run™ race bib
- A donation to charity
- Admission to the Blacklight Run After Party™
What is the Glow™?
Along our course, you’ll be lucky enough to find Blacklight Zones™. These are the key to your glowing power! Each of them are associated with an awesomely bright color: green, pink, and orange. As you reach each Blacklight Zone™, you’ll be showered with Blacklight Run™ UV Neon Glow Powder. Cover yourself in it, for the best is yet to come! This powder, which is all 100% natural and non-toxic, glows under our high beam blacklights every time you reach a zone.
What about the finish line?
We did say the best was yet to come, didn’t we? When you reach the finish line, you get more than just the pride of finishing a 5K and spreading Childhood Cancer Awareness. You also receive a FREE Blacklight Run™ Glow Packet for the best after race party in the WORLD! So stick around, celebrate with us, get some free stuff, and show us how much GLOW you can handle.
Like they say, after the party is the after party! The Blacklight Run After Party™ has more fun and swag than you can handle. You’ll get Blacklight Run™ freebies, and plenty of LED gifts given out at the stage. We encourage you to stay and celebrate the night away. We’ll be dancing and enjoying “Celebration Glow Throw” every 15 minutes. Bring your camera, take some selfies, and share your best #BlacklightRun glow pics with us. It’s a night filled with memories you’ll never forget—and one we will never forget either!
